We are so thankful to have you volunteer your precious time with our parish. We know your time is valuable. However, before beginning to volunteer, we need you to understand the Safe Environment Policy and complete the necessary steps to become Safe Environment compliant.
If you have any questions after reading this information, please contact our parish Safe Environment Coordinator, Sue Bodziach at [email protected] or (412) 366-2020x14.
The Safe Environment Policy was created to take reasonable measures to assure that all staff and volunteers over 18 are committed to providing a safe environment for children and youth, are capable of identifying and preventing abuse of children, and have no personal history of behavior that would be a threat to our precious children. This policy applies to all staff and volunteers over the age of 18. Church personnel is defined as all adult persons (those 18 years of age or older), whether clergy, members of consecrated life, or laity, who, as employees or volunteers, act in the name of the Church under the auspices of the Diocese of Pittsburgh or one of its parishes.

The access code is PROTECT. This code is needed to create a username and password.
The application will walk you through all of the steps needed in order to become fully compliant.

Under Purpose of Certification, please select: Volunteer having direct volunteer contact with children. Then list your home parish Or the Regina Coeli.
You can now skip to Applicant Demographic Information and list your name, gender, date of birth, age, current address and contact information. Providing a social security number does speed up the clearance process, but it is not required information if you do not feel comfortable giving it.
If you have had any previous names or nicknames, you can provide them in the next section on the back of the form.
The next section requires you to list previous addresses since 1975. Please keep in mind that you do not need to list exact addresses if you cannot remember them. For the most part, providing a city and state is the most important information.
The last portion on the form asks for everyone who has been a part of your household since 1975. A simple way of thinking of it is that if you were under 18 years old in 1975, you need to list your parents’ names as well as your siblings. Don’t forget your children and spouse or anyone else that you have lived with since 1975, but you do not have to list the names of your college roommates.
