In an effort to welcome and embrace children and adults in our community with Autism, Down Syndrome, and other intellectual and developmental challenges, Regina Coeli Parish hosts Sensory Friendly Masses every month at St. John Neumann Church. These Masses include lower lights, softer music, Scripture from the Children's Lectionary, and shorter, more literal homilies. We encourage families and individuals to get up and move if needed. to bring alternative seating, fidgets, or noise-canceling headphones, and to participate in the liturgy just as they are. People of all abilities are welcome at any Mass at Regina Coeli parish, but we do hope that this Sensory Friendly Mass can be a resource to anyone who may benefit from a liturgy that has been intentionally planned with special needs in mind.
Please email Lale at [email protected] to be added to the email list used to communicate any changes to the Mass schedule.
* Please note that there will not be a Sensory Friendly Mass offered in the months of July & August.
