Called By Name: A Diocesan Vocation Initiative
This Lent, our parish will participate in Called By Name, a diocesan program inviting parishioners to help encourage young men to consider God's call to the priesthood. We ask you to begin praying about the young men in our parish, school, or families who show strong faith, leadership, and a generous spirit of service. These qualities often reflect an openness to a priestly vocation. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.

Called By Name Sunday - January 24 & 25th, 2026On January 24/25 2026, our parish will join the Diocese of Pittsburgh in Called By Name Sunday. During all Masses, we will pray for vocations and reflect on how God continues to call men to serve His Church as priests.
Parishioners are invited to consider young men (age 14 and older) who may have the gifts and character suited for priesthood. Please take time this week to pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. -
Called By Name - Nominate a Future PriestOn January 24 & 25 and January 31 & February 1, nomination cards will be available in the vestibule. After prayerful reflection, please write the name(s) of young men you believe may be called to the priesthood and return the completed card in the collection basket.

Being named is not a commitment—only an encouragement. Each nominee will receive a personal letter from Bishop Mark Eckman and an invitation to the Saint Andrew Dinner on March 1, an evening designed to help young men learn more about discernment.

All cards and online submissions must be sent to the Diocesan Vocations Office by February 6. Please continue to pray for an increase in holy vocations within our Church.
