Through the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized receive a deeper participation in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, strengthening and empowering them to live as Jesus did. Bound more closely to the Church through this Sacrament, they are obliged to spread and defend the faith, by both word and deed, as witnesses of Christ.
The normal process for reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is through preparation in 8th grade while attending CCD classes at Assumption, the Ignite program at St. John Neumann, or Catholic School. Additional activities for all Confirmation Candidates are arranged through the parish.
More information on the requirements to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at Regina Coeli Parish is linked below.

An alternate process, Order of Christian Initiation for Children (OCIC), is available for those children who have missed some pieces of the regular timeline for the reception of sacraments, inc
luding Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.
The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) is the avenue for adults who would like to become fully initiated in the Catholic Church. Confirmation is the final piece of this process.
Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit; for it had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit. (Acts 8:14-17)
